EDP Foundation is a patron to the publication “Guide to Lisbon Architecture – 1948-2013”, a work published by A+A Books
with the support of the Lisbon City Council which includes over 200 of the city’s most iconic buildings.
Nothing says more about the history of a city than its architecture. This guide book tells the story of Lisbon over the last seven decades through its buildings, from the Modern Movement in Lisbon (1948-1960) to the present day, through the city at the end of Estado Novo, from the 25th April revolution to the democratic stability and post-modern style of the 80s until the mid-1990s.
“Guide to Lisbon Architecture – 1948-2013” has been given the status of Asset of Cultural Interest by the Culture Secretary of State, and all the architectural examples selected are presented with technical specifications, a critical text, extensive photographs and sketches according to their complexity, characteristics or historical/critical relevance.
The Guide also includes introductory and explanatory texts, guidelines for browsing, bibliographic references, indexes and location maps.
