Nuno Vicente was born in Chartres, France, in 1981. He studied Painting and Plastic Arts at the Escola Superior de Artes e Design das Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. He was nominated for the 2007 edition of the prize Millennium Anteciparte, and was selected for the show Exposição 90-10, 20 Anos de Artes Plásticas, celebrating the 20th anniversary of ESAD – Caldas da Rainha, 2011. Some of the group exhibitions he has participated in include: Enganar a Fome, Espaço Avenida, Lisboa, 2008; And Then Again, Pavilhão Preto, Museu da Cidade, Lisboa, 2010; Berlin Island, Supermarket, Berlin, 2011; D’abord les Forêts, Opus 2, Centre d’Art La Maison Laurentine, Haute-Marne, France, 2011; O peso e a Ideia, Plataforma Revólver, Lisboa, 2012; Non, SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin, 2013. His solo exhibitions include: O milagre da vida, segundo um Poema de Albert Einstein, Museu António Duarte, Caldas da Rainha, 2008; Clareira, Galeria Paulo Amaro, Lisboa, 2009; Dropping time onto the matter, Rosalux Gallery Berlin, 2010; Sculptures made of earth, water, fire, air (I, II, III), Kunstraum João Cocteau, Berlin, 2012, followed by parts IV and V, in 2013, and Esculturas de Terra, água, fogo, ar (VII), Espaço 58 (now Ar Sólido), Lisboa, 2014. He participated in the 2014 Varna Visual Arts Biennial, in Bulgaria.
Nuno Vicente currently lives and works in Berlin.
