Manuel Caldeira was born in Oeiras, in 1979. He studied Painting at the Byam Shaw School of Art, London, and at Ar.Co – Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, where he was the recipient of the José de Guimarães and Fundação Carmona e Costa scholarship programs. He completed the Advanced Course in Plastic Arts in 2006. He participated in the Visual Arts course of the program Criatividade e Criação Artística, at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Some of the group shows he has participated in include Araruta (a collaboration with Ana Jotta), Galeria João Esteves de Oliveira, and Horse & Heron, Galeria Alecrim 50, Lisboa, both in 2014; We may not be perfect but heaven know we try, Giefarte, Lisboa, 2013; Antes que me lembre, Fundação Carmona e Costa, Lisboa, 2012.
Manuel Caldeira currently lives and works in Lisboa.
