EDP Foundation and the cultural platform Gerador, gathered to dynamize 11 instameets which, throughout 2019, will give life to the Public Art script of EDP Foundation.
Alfândega da Fé, Miranda do Douro, Mogadouro and Torre de Moncorvo (January), Campo Maior (February), Sotavento and Barlavento Algarvio – Algarve - (March), Rio Maior (April), Vila Nova da Barquinha (May), Braga (September) and Fundão (October) will be the hosts to the photographic “marathons” which will count on a total of 44 Portuguese Instagrammers.
The Public Art Program of EDP Foundation uses art as an instrument of social inclusion. Oriented towards territories of low populational density, this project aims at making art accessible and involving the population in new cultural experiments, as well as stimulating local development through the execution of public artworks in rural areas.
With the curatorship of EDP Foundation, the artists are invited to develop a process of collaboration with local populations, motivating them to participate in community assemblies for discussion of the proposals of artistic intervention to be held in public space (building façades, walls, transformer substations of EDP Foundation, etc.). The program already counts on more than 80 artworks and 35 artists, in a script that will be extended to Braga and Fundão, in 2019.
