Susana Mendes Silva. Life and Work: Not As Before But Again

The seventh volume in the series Ashpit 8 is being published on the occasion of the exhibition Life and Work: Not As Before But Again, by Susana Mendes Silva, described by Antonia Gaeta in the following terms: “The exhibition is focussed on two aspects : recording and documenting the performances – the way in which they may be thought about, presented, returned to the public as objects, readings or sound –, recreating performances for the purpose of replicating past spiritual settings, and the creation of new pieces.” As well as reproductions of a selection of works in the exhibition, the catalogue also includes an essay by Antonia Gaeta, the exhibition curator.
